Gujarati (ગુજરાતી) is Official language of Gujarat state and Dadar Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu union territory in India. Almost 70 million (i.e. 7 Crore) peoples speaks Gujarati language worldwide. Gujarati is a modern Indo-Aryan language evolved from Sanskrit.

"Gujarati script" is a descendant of the "Brahmi script". Gujarati script is an abugida i.e. write from left to right. It is used to write the Gujarati and Kutchi languages. The Gujarati script is very similar to Devanagari but without the line at the top of the letters. The first grammar of a precursor of Gujarati was written in the 12th century.
